The Parker Variant is a two piece adjustable double edge safety razor built on a genuine brass frame with an electroplated graphite-grey and satin chrome finish. A numbered dial on the handle changes the blade setting.

Parker publishes a weight of 4 oz and a length of 4 in, and a dial range of 1 to 5 with 1 the mildest setting and 5 the most aggressive.

The setting can be changed at any time, so the same razor can be set one way for the cheeks and another for the neck, or moved up and down as beard growth changes.

This is a two piece razor. The head lifts away from the handle as one unit rather than separating into a top cap and a base plate, so there is one fewer part to hold on to over a wet sink.

Getting the Best from Your Razor

1. Prepare the skin first. Many shavers find a hot shower or a warm damp towel before the shave makes a difference.
2. Build lather with a shave soap or cream. A shave brush lifts the hair and spreads the lather more evenly.
3. Let the razor do the work and apply very little pressure. Hold the head at a shallow angle to the skin rather than pressing it flat.
4. Take the first pass with the grain, then reduce further on later passes if you want to.
5. Rinse the head under running water between passes rather than tapping the razor on the sink.
6. Change the blade once it starts to feel rough or drag. Blade life varies between individuals.

Care and Storage

Rinse the razor under warm running water after every shave and shake the water off. Take the head off from time to time and rinse the head and the handle threads so that soap does not build up, and run water through the dial mechanism. Dry the razor and leave it where air can reach it rather than in a closed cabinet or a sealed travel tube.

The finish is plated. Avoid abrasive polishes, scouring pads and strong household cleaners, which can cut through a plated finish.

Keep unused blades dry and stored in their original packaging. Place used blades in a sealed Razor Blade Bank or another puncture-resistant container. Never place loose blades directly in household trash.
