Product Overview

The Parker Gray and Rose Gold Synthetic Shaving Brush sets a 21 mm long loft synthetic knot into a heavyweight gray resin handle with rose gold accents and is supplied with a clear acrylic stand in a gift box.

At 21 mm the knot sits between the common 20 mm all round size and the larger 22 mm brushes, so it works in a bowl and on the face. The long loft gives the filament tips room to splay over the soap, and the weighted handle keeps the brush steady while you load it.

Lathering Performance

Synthetic filaments hold water on the surface of the fibre rather than absorbing it, so the knot loads quickly, releases lather freely and shakes almost dry in seconds. There is no break in period; the brush feels the same on the first shave as on the hundredth. A 21 mm knot with a long loft loads quickly from a puck or a cream and releases lather steadily through a multi pass shave.

Who This Brush Is Best For

No animal hair is used in a synthetic knot.

A 21 mm knot is close to the common all round size and suits most soaps and bowls.

The brush arrives in a gift box with its stand.

Getting the Best from Your Brush

  1. Soak the knot in warm water for a minute or two before you start, then shake out the excess.
  2. Load the brush by working it over the soap or cream until the hair is fully charged.
  3. Build the lather in a bowl or on the face, adding water a little at a time until it turns glossy.
  4. A synthetic knot does not need breaking in, so it loads and feels the same from the first shave.

Adding water gradually rather than all at once is the usual difference between a thin lather and a thick one.

Care and Storage

Rinse the knot thoroughly under warm running water after every shave until the water runs clear, then shake out the excess and stand the brush bristles down so it can dry. Avoid boiling water, harsh detergents and leaving the brush sitting wet in an enclosed space. Do not stand the brush on its knot to dry. The clear acrylic stand holds the brush knot down between shaves so water drains away from the base of the knot.

Frequently Asked Questions

What size is the knot?
The knot is 21 mm. That sits just above the common 20 mm all round size, so it holds a little more lather while staying easy to control on the face.
How tall is the brush?
Parker publishes a handle length of 3.0 in, an overall height of 5 in and a base diameter of 1.2 in.
Why choose a synthetic brush over badger or boar?
A synthetic knot uses no animal hair, needs no breaking in, dries faster than natural hair and carries no animal smell. It also costs less than a badger brush of the same size.
Can I use this brush with both soap and cream?
Yes. A synthetic knot works with hard soaps, soft soaps and creams, and can be used for bowl lathering or face lathering.
How do I prepare the brush before shaving?
Soak the knot in warm water for a minute or two, then shake out the excess water before loading your soap or cream.
Will a synthetic brush shed?
Synthetic filament knots are set into the handle and do not normally shed. An occasional stray filament in the first few uses is not unusual.
How should the brush be dried?
Rinse the knot thoroughly, shake out the water and stand the brush bristles down so air can circulate. Do not store it wet in a closed cabinet or a sealed travel tube.
How long does a synthetic brush last?
A synthetic knot holds its shape well with normal use. Rinse it thoroughly, dry it bristles down and keep it away from boiling water, which can damage the filaments.

Really nice synthetic option shaving. Yes, I am a woman that uses a DE razor to shave! It’s great! Along with this brush and my Vikings Blade, I have been getting the best shaves of my life! The brush is really soft and creates a nice lather. It’s nice to use a brush to apply my shave soap and not be worried that my hands are slippery!

As a vegan, I really did not want to use animal fur. This brush is a great alternative. No, it is not as good as the best badger fur brush you can buy, but it performs very well. It holds water well, makes a great lather and is easy to clean. I don’t know what the life of this brush is going to be, but I expect it to wear well. I store it on a stand between shaves with the bristles pointing down. Also, the price is modest and won’t be an issue when it comes time to replace it

Its a very nice brush with soft bristles that spread the lather well. It actually feels on your face like a more expensive silver tip brush.

I like the Parker brush the best so far

This brush is great, been using it for over 8 months and it works perfectly. The bristles are soft but dense. A couple of shakes to get the excess water off after its lathered up and spreads the shaving cream at a perfect consistency.
