The 82R is the heavy one. Parker lists an all brass frame under chrome plating, a textured handle, 4.2 in. overall and 3.2 oz. That weight is the whole point: a heavier razor needs less hand pressure, and less hand pressure is what stops irritation.

Getting Started

Twist the handle to open the head, drop the blade in flat, twist it closed. Then shave with no pressure at all for the first few passes and let the weight do it.

A new badger knot may shed a few hairs over the first several uses. That settles down.

Care and Storage

Rinse the razor after every shave, open the head briefly so water runs through, and shake it dry. Rinse the brush until the water runs clear, squeeze gently rather than wringing it, and hang it on the stand to dry.

Keep unused blades dry and stored in their original packaging. Place used blades in a sealed Razor Blade Bank or another puncture-resistant container. Never place loose blades directly in household trash.
