The 96R is Parker’s graphite-gray butterfly. Parker publishes the finish as graphite-gray and chrome plating over a genuine brass frame, textured for grip, at 4 in. and 2.85 oz. It reads darker than bright chrome without being a true black razor.

The butterfly head is the practical part. One twist of the base of the handle opens the two doors at the top, the old blade lifts out and the new one drops in, with nothing to hold loose over a sink.

What This Set Does

Getting Started

Twist the handle to open the head, drop the blade in flat, twist it closed and check it sits square before the first pass.

A new badger knot may shed a few hairs over the first several uses. That settles down.

Care and Storage

Rinse the razor after every shave, open the head briefly so water runs through, and shake it dry. Rinse the brush until the water runs clear, squeeze gently rather than wringing it, and hang it on the stand to dry.

Keep unused blades dry and stored in their original packaging. Place used blades in a sealed Razor Blade Bank or another puncture-resistant container. Never place loose blades directly in household trash.
