What This Gel Does

Two things make a shave hurt: hair that is too stiff to cut cleanly, and a blade meeting bare skin. A pre-shave gel works on both. Massaged in against the grain it lifts and softens the hair, and what stays on the skin is a film the lather sits on top of.

Cella is specific about the sequence: damp face, gel, massage in circular movements and against the growth, do not rinse, then the shaving cream. Skipping the massage or rinsing it off removes most of the benefit.

How To Use It

Wet the face with warm water, apply the gel and massage in circular movements and against the natural growth of the hair. Do not rinse. Apply the shaving cream over the top and shave as usual.

The massage matters as much as the gel. It is what lifts the hair.
