Getting the Best from Your Brush
- Soak the knot in warm water for a minute or two before you start, then shake out the excess.
- Load the brush by working it over the soap or cream until the hair is fully charged.
- Build the lather in a bowl or on the face, adding water a little at a time until it turns glossy.
- A synthetic knot does not need breaking in, so it loads and feels the same from the first shave.
Adding water gradually rather than all at once is the usual difference between a thin lather and a thick one.
Care and Storage
Rinse the knot thoroughly under warm running water after every shave until the water runs clear, then shake out the excess and stand the brush bristles down so it can dry. Avoid boiling water, harsh detergents and leaving the brush sitting wet in an enclosed space. Do not stand the brush on its knot to dry. The acrylic stand holds the brush knot down between shaves so water drains away from the base of the knot.

So this was my first synthetic brush, but it has not disappointed. After some research and using a cheap pure badger brush, I gave this a shot.
As for what really matters, the lather, it does a good job. I was surprised to find that it has a good amount of backbone. Makes creating a lather easier and the application quick. What i was surprised to find was how soft the tips of the brush. The combination of back bone and softness created a unique experience. The hefty handle gives great control with the brush and gives a sense of quality my other brushes don’t have.
For the price, this is a great brush that I would highly advice.

This shaving brush by Parker a company based out of India, that makes wet shaving supplies recently came out with this particular brush which features a chrome steel base with a black handle with synthetic bristles. The brush itself looks very elegant and could easily be mistaken for a much more expensive brush. The bristles themselves are very very soft and provide for an excellent lather, but because the brush plate is made of metal it is a bit bottom-heavy, however I actually prefer this as it gives you more weight when applying the brush lather to your face. Overall I think this brush is definitely worth well more than what it sells for and I recommend it to anyone looking for a premium quality synthetic brush at a low price!

For whatever reason, I did not personally want an animal hair shaving brush. And although I’ve passed 60, I’m still a relative newcomer to safety razor shaving. This synthetic brush is amazingly soft and does a fine job of lathering up my shaving cream. Having not ever tried a real badger brush, I can’t really compare the two, but I can find no faults in this brush. The heft and feel of the brush are good and the function is good. For me, it was a worthwhile purchase.

I like a hot water shave with my straight-razor each morning and that means warm towels and lathering up. Its all part of taking good care of myself and my skin. A good shaving brush is definitely part of that routine. I’ve bought a Parker brush before and was curious if the synthetic bristles were as soft as the boar’s hair – they are. Seem to be pretty durable, and they don’t clump together from the oils in the shaving foam, either.

This is a great brush. It is soft, lathers well and is very sturdy. It does not give off the “funky wet cat” odor that the animal hair brushes often do, and more importantly it does NOT shed at all! I also have a Parker synthetic with a white pearl handle that I have been using for 3 years and really like that one too. This black handle is identical in quality and performance…only difference is the color. I have been wet shaving for 5 decades, and since I tried my first synthetic 3 years ago I no longer use animal hair brushes because IMO these Parker synthetic brushes have been far better all around.
And just in case you’re wondering, I’m not a vegan or animal rights activist, I’m just being honest about what works better for me.
