The Parker Walnut Handle Deluxe Pure Badger Shave Brush is a traditional wet shaving brush with a 20 mm pure badger knot set into a walnut finished beechwood handle. It is supplied with a matching Lucite stand.
Pure badger holds a good deal of water and has enough backbone to work soap out of the tin, which makes it a practical everyday brush for either bowl lathering or face lathering.

Lathering Performance
Pure badger is the standard grade of badger hair. It absorbs and holds water well, and the hair keeps enough backbone to lift soap out of a hard puck without going limp. The 20 mm knot works for building lather in a bowl or scuttle and for lathering directly on the face, and it releases lather steadily through a multi pass shave.

Getting the Best from Your Brush
- Soak the knot in warm water for a minute or two before you start, then shake out the excess.
- Load the brush by working it over the soap or cream until the hair is fully charged.
- Build the lather in a bowl or on the face, adding water a little at a time until it turns glossy.
- Give a new brush several shaves to break in before judging how it loads and how soft it feels.
Adding water gradually rather than all at once is the usual difference between a thin lather and a thick one.
Care and Storage
Rinse the knot thoroughly under warm running water after every shave until the water runs clear, then shake out the excess and stand the brush bristles down so it can dry. Avoid boiling water, harsh detergents and leaving the brush sitting wet in an enclosed space. Do not stand the brush on its knot to dry. The Lucite stand holds the brush knot down between shaves so water drains away from the base of the knot.

Let me start by saying that parker as a company has come a long way in terms of quality of their products. The company had a recent change in the design of their products and that changes has worked well for them. This pure badger brush is almost as good as the silvertip. Just takes about 7-10 shaves to break in, and after that its softness is something to strive for. I have recently converted from boar hair brush with face lather, to badger hair brush with a bowl lather. This brush makes a fantastic creamy, thick lather with proraso red shaving cream. It hold plenty of water and the end result is a nice warm, wet, cushioning lather. The long neck of the brush also makes lathering easy in my bowl, which is quite deep. The loft length is just right not too long, and the knot is 20 mm. I don’t like a brush that is thick and then splays all over your face. This brush does not splay too much, is not too soft, and is able to coat your beard and exfoliate some dead skin. You can use this brush and make a good lather using shaving soaps too, it has the backbone needed to do that. Overall I am very satisfied with my purchase. I am getting good shaves when I team this brush with parker 118b razor.

Beautiful brush that is very well made. The shiny chrome is a little silly, shows waterspots and doesn’t go with much. Still worth the money, hands down.
