Description
Product Overview
The Parker SRX is the all metal clip type barber razor in the range, with a stainless steel handle and a heavyweight stainless steel blade arm and no plastic parts anywhere. IT IS SUPPLIED AS THE RAZOR ONLY: blades are sold separately.
Every other razor in the Parker barber range arrives with five half blades in the box. This one does not, which is worth knowing before you order, because a barber razor is unusable without a blade. Any double edge blade snapped in half will fit, and it will also take a single edge blade.
At 2.0 oz on a 5.25 in frame it is a dense, short razor, and the clip arm is heavier than the one on the lighter models, which is what keeps blade chatter down when you are cutting a line.

How This Barber Razor Works
A barber razor of this kind is not a traditional hollow ground straight razor. Nothing is honed or stropped. You snap an ordinary double edge blade in half and load one half into the head, which gives you a fresh, genuinely sharp edge every time for the price of half a blade.
The clip to close mechanism is the part that matters. The arm folds over the blade and clips shut, which holds the half blade flat and square along its whole length. A blade that sits square does not chatter, and chatter is what causes the nicks people associate with these razors.
Who This Razor Is Best For
The standard tool for outlining, necklines and beard detailing.
A heavy clip arm holds the edge steady for crisp lines.
No plastic anywhere, built for a working sink.
Weight and Shaving Feel
The SRX weighs 2.0 oz and measures 5.25 in, which makes it short and dense rather than long and light. That combination suits detail work: the weight holds the angle for you and the short length keeps the edge close to your hand, where you can see exactly what it is doing. Remember that it ships without blades.
How a razor feels is subjective and varies from one shaver to another. Beard type, blade choice, lather and technique all affect the result, so treat these descriptions as a general guide rather than a promise about your own shave.
Getting the Best from Your Razor
- Prepare the skin first. Many shavers find a hot shower or a warm damp towel before the shave makes a difference.
- Build lather with a shave soap or cream. A shave brush lifts the hair and spreads the lather more evenly.
- Let the razor do the work and apply very little pressure. Hold the head at a shallow angle to the skin rather than pressing it flat.
- Take the first pass with the grain, then reduce further on later passes if you want to.
- Rinse the head under running water between passes rather than tapping the razor on the sink.
- Change the blade once it starts to feel rough or drag. Blade life varies between individuals.
Care and Storage
Rinse the razor under warm running water after every shave and shake the water off. Open the head and rinse underneath it as well, because lather and cut hair collect there more than anywhere else on the razor.
Remove the blade before you put the razor away, and never store it with a blade loaded. Rinse the head and the handle, dry them, and keep the razor somewhere dry and open to the air. Stainless steel resists rust well but a blade left in a damp razor will mark the head.
Keep unused blades dry and stored in their original packaging. Place used blades in a sealed Razor Blade Bank or another puncture-resistant container. Never place loose blades directly in household trash.

I love this Razor! Thank you

Received my SRX in the post today.Beautiful looking razor and works well. The one annoying thing is the length of the actual razor. Its a little short for my hand. The sister razor I just discovered is the SR1 and it’s a 1/4 longer than the SRX and €4 cheaper? Nonetheless a fantastic razor compared to the plastic crap razors with exhortation prices for replacement blades.

I am new to using this style of cutthroat straight edge. So, I am still learning how to use it properly and avoid nicks. I find this straight edge really easy to use. It fits well in my hand and it is easy to manipulate. It is really easy to remove the blade, flip it or replace it. I am not really reviewing the blades themselves here. The blades that this comes with are really sharp and work really well, but I have a feeling you could use many different blades that would also have really good results. I wanted this straight edge for fine detail work around my beard and mustache and around my mouth. So far this is the best tool I have found for that. It is really easy to get into the tight spots under my nose and around my lips. However, as I said, I am new to this and I am still getting quite a few little nicks! Lol .

So far I like it but you have to get used to it. This is not as forgiving as a double edge safety razor, any mistakes will be felt quickly!! Before using this make sure to at least see a tutorial!! The shark blades it comes with they are good if you are starting for the first time , but i prefer my Gillette Blues (but that’s personal).

This is a very nice shavette. I like the chrome and all metal construction. For me, the shavette is balanced and has the desired weight that I like in a shavette. Nice flagship shavette for Parker Razors.

Very nice razor like the weight, and the way I can handle it. Holds the blades nicely very smooth shave. Very happy with it.

I just recently started shaving with one of these bad boys and I bought the Parker SRX initially because its great look. It performs just as well as it looks. It’s very solid and has a nice weight to it. It also comes with re-fills. It took just two shaves to get comfortable and I haven’t cut myself. If you’re like me and have thick, course facial that seems to grow overnight, I highly recommend switching to this type of racor.
Father Steve Trosiek –
This razor is a bargain for the money. It is well made and is durable. Blades are inexpensive and easy to change. Easy to maneuver and gives a very close shave.
DAB –
Nice Straight Edge. Easy to maneuver to leave a good shape up.

Product is so nice and the design is just perfect. I was a beginner at one stage and now I am a pro. But this one is just awesome. Comes with plenty of blades (each of them last very long). Handling with wet hands can be challenging sometimes but that could be any razors. Weight and material of the product make it best amongst the top other branded ones.

After receiving and using my Parker Razor I had been requested to write a short review about my ‘experience’. This is my first straight razor and in my first two days … of full face whittling of skinnage … I must say its a great value, feel in hand and … it looks like a million bucks. As for the ‘free 5 included half blades made by Shark’ … I can only ask WHY I DIDNT start earlier … well because ‘the internet much less AZN and storefronts .. hadn’t existed ‘back then’. I’m sure all the millennials use straight blade razors but if not .. “boys” … man up for a sweet shave.
If you are curious after watching Utube videos on … beginners .. straight shaves… THIS IS a recommend and buy a hundred SHARK blades while AZN offers it – oh you might find a little blood here and there. You might see the possibility of cutting your major arteries with this … weaponized shaver but … follow a good training video and .. use two hands, take it easy ..
Actually .. I’m still doing a first morning shave with my Dorco 4-5blade (buck club) razor which always leave stubble behind. So as I progress on getting the hands on.. the combo works well (maybe a first go with cartridge shave then do over with the Parker SRX. I’ve had two minor cuts .. because the blades are incredibly sharp – clean and the razor … uncompromising.
I have NOW been advised about .. these blades have ‘protective coating’ and DO NOT WIPE the blade clean … didn’t know that. Also as the blades are so inexpensive .. I’ve been tossing blades after a single, weenie morning shave. Apparently even while these are disposables, they may well last a few shaves before changing. BUY AS A very very sweet product. Buy the New for 2016 because … it only gets better with experience.
PARKER … since the great year of 1979! Its not complicated. I wouldn’t wish to put Gillettee out of business but they made the $$mistake of over pricing their cartridges. Man up: Buy PARKER for your first and it may be your last Stainless Steel Pro razor .. Made by loving hands in India of all places where .. they probably have just a few million beards using Parker daily. Blades by SHARK … made in Turkey I believe .. insane imports. I love America and the time we live in. Thank you !

I’ve been debating on going to these types of straight razors for quite some time since safety razors such as the Gillette don’t last that long before the blades are worn out and are utterly expensive. I also was never satisfied with the shave that I got, while it was a close shave, it was never a precise shave being that I also have a beard.
I purchased this product after reading a ton of reviews citing the only thing people were too concerned about were rust potential. As a result I purchased this and immediately started just wiping the blade clean on a paper towel or cloth sitting on my bathroom vanity while shaving rather than trying to rinse the hair. This is actually been super favorable considering now I don’t have to worry about all that hair going down the drain and potentially causing future problems. The shave itself is incredibly comfortable and probably one of the most comfortable shaves I’ve had despite having incredibly sensitive skin. I’m able to do very precise shaves that are also very close, and after a few uses I was no longer cutting myself. The recommended Barbershop trick of trying to shave a balloon is great for getting the hang of it quickly.
