Product Overview

The Parker White Long Handle Silvertip Badger Brush and Stand sets an oversized 22 mm silvertip badger knot into a long white resin handle and is supplied with an acrylic stand in a gift box.

Parker designed the long ergonomic handle to make lathering in a deep shave mug or bowl easier, since your grip stays above the rim while the knot works the soap. The 22 mm knot holds a generous amount of water and lather for a multi pass shave.

Lathering Performance

Silvertip badger carries more water than the other badger grades and has the softest natural tips, so it builds a rich lather quickly and feels gentle on the face. The oversized 22 mm knot has a high bristle density, so it picks up soap quickly and releases lather steadily through a multi pass shave, in a deep mug as easily as in a bowl.

Who This Brush Is Best For

Getting the Best from Your Brush

  1. Soak the knot in warm water for a minute or two before you start, then shake out the excess.
  2. Load the brush by working it over the soap or cream until the hair is fully charged.
  3. Build the lather in a bowl or on the face, adding water a little at a time until it turns glossy.
  4. Give a new brush several shaves to break in before judging how it loads and how soft it feels.

Adding water gradually rather than all at once is the usual difference between a thin lather and a thick one.

Care and Storage

Rinse the knot thoroughly under warm running water after every shave until the water runs clear, then shake out the excess and stand the brush bristles down so it can dry. Avoid boiling water, harsh detergents and leaving the brush sitting wet in an enclosed space. Do not stand the brush on its knot to dry. The acrylic stand holds the brush knot down between shaves so water drains away from the base of the knot.

Frequently Asked Questions

What size is the knot?
The knot is 22 mm, a little larger than the common 20 mm all round size. It holds more water and lather, which suits bowl lathering and longer multi pass shaves.
How is this different from the black version?
The design is the same oversized 22 mm silvertip knot on the same long resin handle; this one is finished in white. Parker makes the same brush in black, which we list separately.
What is silvertip badger hair?
Silvertip is the top grade of badger hair used in shaving brushes. The hair keeps its natural lighter coloured tips, feels the softest of the badger grades on the face, and holds a large amount of water, which makes a rich lather easy to build.
Can I use this brush with both soap and cream?
Yes. Silvertip badger works with hard soaps, soft soaps and creams, and can be used for bowl lathering or face lathering.
How do I prepare the brush before shaving?
Soak the knot in warm water for a minute or two, then shake out the excess water before loading your soap or cream.
Will a new brush shed hairs?
A few loose hairs in the first several uses are normal for a natural hair brush and usually stop on their own. Heavy shedding that continues is not normal.
How should the brush be dried?
Rinse the knot thoroughly, shake out the water and stand the brush bristles down so air can circulate. Do not store it wet in a closed cabinet or a sealed travel tube.
Does a new badger brush have a smell?
New natural hair brushes can carry a faint animal smell for the first few washes. Lathering the brush with soap several times and rinsing well normally clears it.

I have been using the same economy priced badger hair brush for 8 years, until I lost my luggage at an airport overseas and was forced to buy another. I thought, why buy another 20 dollar one when I am an adult and should enjoy the finer things in life! Despite reading that silver tipped badger hair brushes are supposed to cost upward of 150, this one is about 1/3rd that price and dear god is it soft. The lather is unlike anything I have ever experienced too. Each time I use it (only 3 times so far) the lather gets better and more luxurious. I cant recommend this brush enough. Buy it, you wont be disappointed.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with this brush! It’s perfect!

En deux tours de main il fait une vraie mousse abondante et aérée.
Rien avoir avec le blaireau que j’avais.
Les poils sont très denses et ne se perdent pas.

This is only the second brush I have had to buy. My last one lasted 8 years and it was half the price of this one. So I have high hopes for its longevity. It holds a lot of lather with a nice soft feel to my face when applying lather. I have been using it for about a month now and I have only lost about three hairs and none in the past 2 weeks.

I really love the feel and price of this brush, though it tends to shed quite a bit.

Update: The shedding’s slowed down to 1-3 hairs lost per shave, but it’s still kind of annoying. In terms of performance, however, the brush still makes a great lather and is comfortable to use. It’s good if you want something that’s not too expensive and prefer softer bristles. But I wouldn’t recommend it for someone wanting a long-lasting piece.
