Product Overview
Most travel brushes are small brushes. This one is a full-size brush that takes itself apart. The head unscrews from the brushed aluminum tube and drops inside it, so the bristles travel enclosed and the whole thing packs down to a tube rather than a brush standing on end.
The knot is hand made 100% pure badger, 20 mm at the base. Pure badger is the firmer, more scrubby grade of badger hair, which is why it works so well at lifting a lather out of hard soap rather than only whipping cream.

What This Brush Does
A shaving brush does two jobs: it holds hot water and it builds the lather. A knot that is too small holds too little water to finish the job, which is why the usual pocket-sized travel brush disappoints. Keeping the head full size and making the handle do the packing solves that without making the brush any harder to carry.
The pure badger grade gives a firmer tip than silvertip. That backbone is what lets it work a hard soap puck and then paint the lather onto the face rather than only lifting it off the surface.

Travelling With It
Unscrew the head, drop it into the tube and screw the tube shut. The bristles then travel enclosed rather than pressed against the inside of a wash bag.
Let the brush dry before it is closed into the handle. A wet knot sealed in a tube stays wet and will smell.
Care and Storage
Rinse the knot thoroughly under warm running water after each use until the water runs clear, squeeze the water out gently rather than wringing the hairs, shake it and leave it in open air to dry. Only pack it into the tube once it is dry.

I would recommend this for traveling but not necessarily for everyday use as it is not as soft as my everyday brush. When the brush is inserted inside the handle, the length is just over 3 1/2. That’s fine for packing in my travel kit.
