The Parker Flight is a three piece double edge safety razor made from solid brass and finished in antique brass plating. The head is a closed comb design and the handle carries a spiral-pattern grip that runs its full length.

The Flight weighs 110 g at an overall length of 3.8 in, with a 3.6 in handle, so it is a dense razor in a compact body.

Parker applies the antique finish manually during the plating process before sealing it. Graining therefore varies from one razor to the next, and some pieces carry marginally more dark grain than others. This is a characteristic of the finish rather than a fault.

Blades are supplied in the box but are not fitted. Parker states that there will be no blade inserted in the razor when you unbox it, so load a blade before the first shave.

Parker specifies a 0.60 mm blade gap, +0.015 mm blade exposure and a recommended shaving angle of 45°.

The closed comb bar presents a continuous edge to the skin ahead of the blade, which is the more common guard type on daily use double edge razors.

Getting the Best from Your Razor

1. Prepare the skin first. Parker suggests shaving after a hot shower.
2. Build lather with a shave soap or cream. A shave brush lifts the hair and spreads the lather more evenly.
3. Let the razor do the work and apply very little pressure. Parker gives an approximate 45 degree angle as the starting point.
4. Take the first pass with the grain, then reduce further on later passes if you want to.
5. Parker notes that blade life varies between individuals and that many people average approximately 3 to 7 uses from each blade.

To load a blade, hold the head by the short outer edges, unscrew the handle counterclockwise, seat the blade over the posts on the top cap, fit the base plate with the larger indented middle circle facing the handle side, then screw the handle down until it stops.

Care and Storage

Rinse the razor under warm running water after every shave and shake the water off. Take the head apart from time to time and rinse the top cap, base plate and handle threads so that soap does not build up. Dry the razor and leave it where air can reach it rather than in a closed cabinet or a sealed travel tube.

The antique finish is sealed by Parker after plating. Avoid abrasive polishes, scouring pads and strong household cleaners, which can cut through a plated finish.

Keep unused blades dry and stored in their original packaging. Place used blades in a sealed Razor Blade Bank or another puncture-resistant container. Never place loose blades directly in household trash.
