Product Overview
The Omega 10108 sets a large 27 mm boar knot into a plastic handle and is offered here in black, red or white.
At 27 mm this is one of the bigger Omega professional knots, so it carries a lot of lather in one load. Boar is stiff when new and softens over the first few weeks as the tips split. Omega have been making shaving brushes in Italy for decades and are the best known name in boar brushes.

Lathering Performance
Boar bristle is stiff when it is new and softens as it is used. The tips split over the first few weeks of shaving, and as they do the knot becomes softer against the face and holds more lather. Boar keeps more backbone than badger throughout its life, which is why it lifts soap out of a hard puck so easily. At 27 mm the knot carries a lot of lather, enough for several passes with plenty over.
Who This Brush Is Best For
Boar has the backbone to lift soap straight out of a hard puck.
A 27 mm knot holds a generous volume of lather.
Omega boar brushes give a lot of brush for the money.
Getting the Best from Your Brush
- Soak the knot in warm water for a minute or two before you start, then shake out the excess.
- Load the brush by working it over the soap or cream until the hair is fully charged.
- Build the lather in a bowl or on the face, adding water a little at a time until it turns glossy.
- Give a new boar brush a few weeks of regular use to break in. The tips split as the brush is used, which makes it noticeably softer and better at holding lather.
Adding water gradually rather than all at once is the usual difference between a thin lather and a thick one.
Care and Storage
Soak the bristles in warm water for a minute or two before the shave, not boiling water. Rinse the knot thoroughly after every shave until the water runs clear, then squeeze the water out gently without twisting the knot and leave the brush to dry in a well ventilated place.
