Lathering Performance
Boar bristle is stiff when it is new and softens as it is used. The tips split over the first few weeks of shaving, and as they do the knot becomes softer against the face and holds more lather. Boar keeps more backbone than badger throughout its life, which is why it lifts soap out of a hard puck so easily. At 27 mm the knot carries a lot of lather, enough for several passes with plenty over.

Getting the Best from Your Brush
- Soak the knot in warm water for a minute or two before you start, then shake out the excess.

- Give a new boar brush a few weeks of regular use to break in. The tips split as the brush is used, which makes it noticeably softer and better at holding lather.
