Not as aggressive as Feather, but almost as sharp while being more forgiving of technique. Feather is best for my Shavette, and Kai is best for my DE safety razor. I get, at least, 3 shaves. Shavette (with Feather blades) once a week, and safety razor (Kai) every other day or two. When I’m late for work, I use my Panasonic Arc 5, and when I need to use training wheels, I use Mach 3. I still look ass-holey in the face, but well-groomed and gainfully employed. My future ex-girlfriend approves.

Kai razor blades are, for me, the definitive razor blades. They have the perfect balance of smoothness and sharpness. They are the best blades I have used in terms of value for the money. On average one blade will last me a full week of shaves before it wears down. This gives me one full year of shaves on a 50 pack. I have tried several brands of blades over several years, and can say many good things about them. When I tried a Kai, I first felt the smoothness of the edge. Then I noticed due to the sharpness I was finishing my usual two pass shave in half the time it would usually take me. And the shave was next to flawless, meaning there was no real reason for a third clean up pass. Kai has an excellent blade.

This blade is very sharp then any other blade I have used. (Astra, GSB, Feather, Gillette Yellows, etc.) Also very smooth without the rough feel and irritation that Feather DE blades give me. I have a medium to thick beard with neck irritation problems. No problems with neck with these blades.

I give it 5 stars not because it is good to shave with but because the description is accurate. These are extremely sharp blades, much sharper than any other brand I have tried. If that is what you are looking for then look no further.

As for shaving with them, I will not buy again. I shave fairly quickly and with other brands like feather, merkur, astra…it is not a problem, but with the KAI you have to go slow and be careful if not it will shred your face!!!

More easier to use than the Feather and works well.

During the pandemic I have rediscovered double edge razors. I remember watching my father and both grandfathers using these fine tools of the shave growing up. When it was my turn to start shaving all the multi-razor disposables were all the rage and I bought into the hype for too many years. After watching a couple videos on YouTube about double edge razors I went ahead and ordered a razor and some cheap Astra blades to start my new shaving journey. Here in town we have a fine barber supply store where a bought a few different brands of blades to find the perfect razor for me. I heard about the Kai razor(but couldn’t find them locally) and decided to blind buy some along with my regular Amazon order. To my surprise this blades moved to the top of my list of personal favorites.

After learning curve, achieving very close , day long lasting smoothness.
For my beard, 4 shaves per blade seems optimal.

I used Feather before Kai. Feather is great, especially after a no shave weekend. However, at times feather would quickly burn my skin when I would clean up missed wiskers not to mention the occasional weepers. I have sensitive skin and coarse beard. The Kai is both sharp and forgiving. I can finish a shave without cutting myself which I could do with Feather with attention. However, my beard grows in multiple directions so I end up at times doing several passes trying to reach certain areas or simply where my beard changes direction. I do wish these were cheaper. I can get 4 shaves from a blade(2 per edge) with multiple passes for each shave. I am currently using Palmolive Menthol Shaving Cream 100 ml and really like the glide I get and am amazed at how little product and application time I need for razor glide. I use a Merkur 38 HD classic which holds my blade more centered than my first DE razor Perfecto which is a good DE razor. I use a dab of Every Man Jack post-shave. I get a very smooth finish shave which means no beard shadow in the evening, something my electric could never do. Maybe I am wrong, but when I reach this baby smooth finish, I thought I did something wrong. So between Feather and Kai, is my go to blade right now. The point is your face contours, beard direction, beard coarseness, angle of razor, DE blade brand, DE razor, shaving lube and lastly face prep will vary your experience.
