What This Cream Does

A tub cream is loaded by the nickel, not the pump: scoop, lather, shave. The concentration is the economy, and Taconic states one container lasts for months of shaving.

Taconic’s claims, attributed: the lather is rich, slick, luxurious and extremely long lasting; the formula is super concentrated; it is artisan made in small batches in the USA with organic ingredients; and it earns its keep in working barbershops. The scent facts are per-tub, below.

Who This Is Best For

Barbershop-cream fans
The format Taconic points at working shops.
Brush or brushless
Both routes are published, nickel sized either way.
Value shavers
Months per 4 oz. tub, per Taconic, at pump-line quality.

How To Use It

Taconic’s directions, brush first: let the brush absorb hot water, shake out the excess, add a nickel sized amount of cream to the tips, and massage into the wet beard in circles or lather in a bowl. Brushless: a nickel sized amount with the fingertips, warm water, and 60 seconds of massage until the lather peaks.

The 8 oz. pump line carries the same maker’s creams in five scents when a pump suits you better; both lines are on our site.

Care and Storage

Keep the tub lidded between shaves and out of direct heat.
