Rex Envoy. Stainless Steel 3 piece razor

I love my new Rex Envoy. It’s finely machined, well balanced , and shaves incredibly. I’ve used a Merkur 34C for years and the Rex is a few steps above. The blade setting is perfect. Not too aggressive. It’s a quality tool that will last a lifetime. I’d definitely recommend it.

This was a impulse buy at first but for my skin its a wonderful razor. The price is fair and the craftsmanship is amazing. Good weight and feel. Once I found the right blade the envoy performed amazing. I would love to see an open comb or a more efficient plate

    Great overall razor

I purchased this as my first double edge safety razor. I knew I wanted stainless steel and had it narrowed down to this and two others. I’m really glad I pulled the trigger on this one. I of course don’t have anything to compare it too but so far the shaves have been great. I only nicked myself the first couple of shaves but that’s just me learning. The fit and finish on this is wonderful and love the deep laser engraving on the bottom of the plate. The knurling on the handle is extremely aggressive and it’s not going anywhere while I’m shaving. I’d recommend this to anyone but if you’re just starting out, and want a stainless razor, I would not hesitate spending the money on this one.

Great craftsmanship. Not too aggressive but not too mild. Knurled to perfection. Great razor.

    Phenomenal razor

The Envoy safety razor by Razor Emporium is nothing short of a shaving revelation. Plated in luxurious rhodium, its gleaming finish immediately captures the eye, reflecting the brand’s dedication to impeccable craftsmanship. But this razor isn’t just about looks – it’s a functional work of art. In use, the Envoy provides a seamless, close shave, embodying the perfect marriage of form and function. The weight and balance feel just right, indicating meticulous attention to detail in its design and construction. Razor Emporium has truly crafted a masterpiece with the Envoy, elevating the shaving experience to an art form.

    Rex Envoy

I have a modest collection of DE razors (about 15 in all) including Merkur, Parker, Razorock, Rockwell, Ikon, etc… I decided to treat myself to an Envoy after reading and watching all of the reviews online. I can honestly say that I am beyond impressed. I was unsure that the $150 price tag could be justified, but this thing is next level. The machining is perfect. The 3-part razor goes together like a Swiss watch and the medium aggressiveness of the shave is perfect for me. The knurling on the handle is superior to anything else out there and the length of the standard handle is perfect! The cap and base cover the sides of the blade completely, so there’s none of that hanging out / unfinished feeling to it. The standard brushed finish is very handsome and really doesn’t need the polished to make a statement. The shave it gives me is so comfortable and close that my other razors are being ignored. I’m trying not to justify the cost of a Konsul but I think I’m ruined for other razor brands now and would love a slant bar.

    Love it

The Rex Envoy is an efficient razor, leaving me with a BBS smooth shave with only two passes, which I’m getting used to since I usually have to do at least three passes with other razors. When I first shaved with this, I grew out my facial hair for about a week or two, and within a few minutes, I was only down to stubble, then BBS after my second and final pass. Excellent razor. I’m happy to have a modern American-made safety razor that leaves me with a great shave.

    Awesome razor

I’m new to vintage wet shaving and was getting razor burn from an extremely mild Henson and decided to give the envoy a try after watching almost every YouTube video from razor emporium. The envoy is a bit more aggressive which is perfect for me. Less passes equals less razor burn. Love it. Fantastic razor!!

    Envoy in unplated stainless

As a machinist of nearly 50 years experience, I am very impressed with the quality of manufacturing. Beautiful work. And the shave is beyond my expectations. I have wet shaved all my life, starting with a safety razor in the ‘60s. When the Gillette Trac 2 came out, 1971 or thereabouts, my Dad liked it so much he gave me one. After 30 years of experimenting with the latest gimmick I got tired of throwing away overpriced plastic cartridges and went back to a real razor. I’ve been using a Merkur 43C for about 15 years and love it. But I’ve always been interested in a machined razor. Your video convinced me to try it. The detailed and factual description of your manufacturing process , the pros & cons of the different plating options, made it clear you folks know what you’re doing. The Envoy is a good bit more aggressive than the Merkur, but not unpleasantly so. It’s light to me because the 43C is extra heavy, but I got used to that quickly. I’m accustomed to holding my razor close to the head, so the short handle is fine. The smoothness is incredible. It feels like the entire blade is making contact. Being supported and clamped by accurately machined surfaces, rather than the high spots of cast metal parts, seems to make all the difference. An effortless BB smooth shave. If there’s a downside, it’s that the superb feel makes me want to retire an Astra blade after four shaves rather than my usual six. No worries; they are less than a dime apiece, at least for now. ( I share your pain about the future of Astra blades. I got some Indian blades in a sampler once. Like shaving with a hacksaw blade. ) To all your team: Well done, and thank you.

A Superior Shaving Experience with Razor Emporium’s Envoy Razor

Razor Emporium’s Envoy razor is a genuine standout in the world of premium grooming tools. Its balance is impeccable, making it feel comfortable and secure in the hand during use – a feature that any shaving enthusiast will truly appreciate. The razor’s knurling is another aspect worth noting, providing a firm, grippy surface that enhances control and precision. This attention to detail underscores the high-quality design and craftsmanship that has gone into the making of this razor. The Envoy razor offers a nice blade feel, resulting in an efficient, clean shave. The razor’s performance is a testament to its quality. However, it does demand respect and a light touch; else, it might bite back. In summary, Razor Emporium’s Envoy razor is an excellent tool that screams quality and offers a satisfying shaving experience. It is a razor that I greatly enjoy using and it will indefinitely remain a part of my grooming rotation.

    Quality at a cost

Fantastic functioning and looking razor… everything about it is beautifully done… weight is great if you like a heavy razor…. Short handle is perfect especially if you like to hold it up top… got the stand with it, will say the total cost is hefty especially if you go deluxe finishing but if that’s the worst part then it’s a home run… shaves are on the aggressive side which I like….. enjoy!!!

    Envoy 3 Piece

Did I need another razor…no, but I’m glad I picked this up. I would say it’s efficient for a medium, but feels very smooth. It has a good amount of mass to it, good feedback, but not a lot of blade feel. It’s just a really comfortable daily driver.

    Rex Envoy Razor (standard finish)

I have been wet shaving again for two years after many years of electric shaver shaving. I just was not getting that close of a shave with the electrics. I now have about six DE razors and decided to buy a Rex Envoy. It is a beautiful razor. An initial shave with it using a Gillette Nacet blade and 2-days growth resulted in excellent feedback and a BBS 3-pass shave. Two passes may have been enough. I decided to do some comparison testing, all with 2-days’ growth (I shave every other day). I used new Treet Platinums for this test. I used a Rockwell 6C with my usual #3 plate on one side of my face and the Envoy on the other side. I used Proraso Preshave and Razor Emporium Fireside soap. I found the Envoy to have about the same feedback or more than the #4 plate on the Rockwell. However there were no nicks or cuts from the Envoy. I like feedback. A #4 plate in the Rockwell has always resulted in several nicks and cuts, thus #3 is my go-to. A 3-pass shave with both of them was BBS with each. I did another shave with 2-days’ growth with the Envoy and my 1967 Quarter 1 (M1) Gillette Slim Adjustable set on #4 and the second shave on the Treet Platinums. This vintage Gillette is when I entered Basic Training at Fort Leonard Wood. (I bought this razor off of Ebay.) I used the same pre shave and soap as before. Three passes with both resulted in a BBS shave. The Slim had no blade feedback. But I like feedback. The Envoy had its usual feedback. I like my Envoy. It will be my normal every other day razor with occasional swaps to the Rockwell 6C with the #3 plate.

    Rex Envoy

A fantastic piece of shaving equipment! You can see and feel the quality of the construction in each of the three pieces. The knurling on the handle is as such that you will never drop the razor while using, whether you are right-handed or left-handed. The laser-engraved name and serial number under the guard is a wonderful touch, and linking the numbering to the historic Gillette standard makes me feel like I’m connected to shaving from a bygone era. Even the packaging is high quality. The sleeve, box, inspectors tag, warranty, are all presented in great form! The shave is not too mild, and not too aggressive. Fitted with the appropriate blade, it gives exactly what it promises. When it comes to safety razors, this will be my go-to standard for a long, long time!

    Going strong after 2+ years!

I’m writing this review after over two years of using this safety razor and I can tell you that it holds up and works great. If you’re wanting to break into the premium double edge, safety razors, but don’t want to go as high as 350$ etc. this is a great starting point. I have sensitive skin and coarse hair and it does a great job.

    Rex Envoy

Gorgeous razor, smooth and medium shaver. The two posts that grip the bade could be higher and more prominent – it is fiddly inserting a new blade. This problem is most acute with the slant Konsul – it’s impossible to load a new blade.

    Very happy.

I can’t find a single reason to purchase one of these razors, but I did. No, it’s not cheaper, easier, or faster, and I don’t believe it saves the planet in any way. However, I would repeat the purchase. This is a very nice razor. The quality is amazing. I love the feel of this razor. It’s easy to learn and very forgiving. I watched your videos and picked the AccuForge blades to try, and I am very happy with the shave and the feel. If you want an American-made and excellent product design that will outlast any of us, this is your razor. If you are on the fence, try it. I think you will be happy that you did.

Let me just start out by saying I’m new to wet shaving but holy cow is this razor Awesome. My first razor was a Henson al13 and it was good to get me started. But man I wish I could go back in time and let this be my first razor because I’m not gonna lie it would have been my last. 1 pass shave left me damn near BBS. I’m gonna leave it at that

First shave with the Envoy polished today. Lots of blade feel, but BBS with no cuts or irritation. It’s very comparable to my 6S. Glides well on tallow soap.
