Abysso is the aquatic in the range, and it is the most fully built of the fresh scents. Citrus, bergamot and rosemary open it with a green galbanum edge, a floral heart of jasmine, violet and lily of the valley follows with mint running through it, and it settles onto oakmoss, sandalwood, amber and musk.

It is an alcohol splash in a 100 ml glass bottle with a screw cap and no atomizer. The mossy, woody base is what makes it last longer than an ordinary fresh splash. Made in Italy.

What This Aftershave Does

An alcohol splash is the oldest post-shave finish there is. It goes on cold, it stings for a few seconds on freshly shaved skin, and then it dries away and leaves the scent behind. That short bracing hit is the whole point, and it is why some shavers will use nothing else.

Abysso is the one to pick if you like fresh scents but find most of them gone by mid morning. The oakmoss and sandalwood underneath give it somewhere to go after the citrus burns off.

How To Use It

Rinse with cool water and pat the face dry after shaving, then pour a small amount into the palms, rub them together and press it onto the face and neck. Do not rub it in hard, and keep it away from the eyes.

On freshly shaved skin an alcohol splash will sting briefly. If that is too much, put a few drops of water in your palms first to dilute it.

Care and Storage

Keep the bottle closed and out of direct sunlight. Alcohol is volatile and strong light is hard on fragrance, so a cupboard is better than a sunny windowsill. For external use only. Stop using it if the skin reacts.
