Each puck is 4 oz. and 3 inches round, designed to be lathered in a shave mug for best results, and sized for Parker’s Apothecary Shave Mug or any mug or bowl that takes a 3 inch round soap. Handmade in upstate New York on Taconic’s published soap base of coconut, palm, safflower, olive, castor and hemp seed oils with bentonite clay.

What These Soaps Do

A hard shaving soap is the traditional route to a lather: the puck lives in a mug, a damp brush works over it, and the lather it raises softens the stubble and gives the blade a slick surface to travel on.

Taconic states these soaps create an incredible lather and provide a smooth and slick shaving experience, that they condition, moisturize and protect the face from razor irritation while softening the beard, and that they suit all skin types, including sensitive skin. How To Use Them

Taconic publishes one instruction for these soaps: they are designed to be lathered in a shave mug for best results. Set a puck in the mug, work a wet shaving brush over it in circles until the brush loads, then build the lather on the face or in the mug.

Each puck fits Parker’s Apothecary Shave Mug or any other mug or bowl that can accommodate a 3 inch round soap, which is Taconic’s own sizing note.

Care and Storage

Let the puck in use dry between shaves: tip any standing water out of the mug and leave it open to the air. Keep the other two sealed in their containers until you rotate them in.
