The Parker Solar Storm Synthetic Shaving Brush sets an extra large 28 mm tuxedo knot into a marbled golden yellow, brown and white resin handle and is supplied with an acrylic stand in a gift box.

At 28 mm this is the largest knot in the Parker synthetic range. It carries a great deal of lather, which suits bowl lathering and long multi pass shaves, and the Parker logo is imprinted on the base of the handle.

Lathering Performance

Synthetic filaments hold water on the surface of the fibre rather than absorbing it, so the knot loads quickly, releases lather freely and shakes almost dry in seconds. There is no break in period; the brush feels the same on the first shave as on the hundredth. At 28 mm the knot carries a great deal of lather, comfortably enough for several passes from a single load.

Getting the Best from Your Brush

1. Soak the knot in warm water for a minute or two before you start, then shake out the excess.
2. Load the brush by working it over the soap or cream until the hair is fully charged.
3. Build the lather in a bowl or on the face, adding water a little at a time until it turns glossy.
4. A synthetic knot does not need breaking in, so it loads and feels the same from the first shave.

Adding water gradually rather than all at once is the usual difference between a thin lather and a thick one.

Care and Storage

Rinse the knot thoroughly under warm running water after every shave until the water runs clear, then shake out the excess and stand the brush bristles down so it can dry. Avoid boiling water, harsh detergents and leaving the brush sitting wet in an enclosed space. Do not stand the brush on its knot to dry. The acrylic stand holds the brush knot down between shaves so water drains away from the base of the knot.
