What This Set Does

Buying a razor, a brush and a stand separately usually means one of them does not quite fit the other two. Parker sells this combination as a single set, and the stand is specified to take a round handled razor and a knot between 20 and 25 mm, which is exactly what the other two pieces are.

A stand keeps the razor or brush organized and allows a rinsed brush to dry in an open, ventilated position between shaves. That is the practical job it does: everything has a place, nothing is left lying on a wet counter, and the brush sits in the open air rather than on a shelf.

Getting Started

Load a blade, twist the handle closed, and give the brush a few minutes in warm water before the first lather. Shave with no pressure and let the weight of the razor do the work.

A new badger knot may shed a few hairs over the first several uses. That settles down.

Care and Storage

Rinse the razor after every shave, open the head briefly so water runs through, and shake it dry. Rinse the brush until the water runs clear, squeeze gently rather than wringing it, and hang it on the stand to dry.

Keep unused blades dry and stored in their original packaging. Place used blades in a sealed Razor Blade Bank or another puncture-resistant container. Never place loose blades directly in household trash.
