Three Piece Design and Blade Changes

A three piece razor comes apart into three separate components: the handle, the top cap and the base plate. Unscrewing the handle releases the top cap, the blade sits between the top cap and the base plate, and screwing the handle back on clamps the assembly together.

Because every part separates, the head can be rinsed thoroughly and dried, and there is no hinge or spring mechanism inside the head to wear or seize.

Weight and Shaving Feel

At 36 g over an overall length of 93 mm the Styletto is very light for a metal razor, so almost none of the work is done by the weight of the razor and the shave depends much more on angle and on how the blade is presented. The published blade gap of 0.88 mm with 0.37 mm of positive exposure sets the blade well clear of the guard.

Getting the Best from Your Razor

1. Prepare the skin first. Many shavers find a hot shower or a warm damp towel before the shave makes a difference.

3. Let the razor do the work and apply very little pressure. Hold the head at a shallow angle to the skin rather than pressing it flat.

Care and Storage

Rinse the razor under warm running water after every shave and shake the water off. Take the head apart from time to time and rinse the top cap, base plate and handle threads so that soap does not build up. Dry the razor and leave it where air can reach it rather than in a closed cabinet or a sealed travel tube.

Anodizing is a surface treatment on the aluminum rather than a plating, so it does not flake, but avoid abrasive cleaners which can dull it. The nylon washer in the handle stays in place and does not need removing to rinse the razor.

Keep unused blades dry and stored in their original packaging. Place used blades in a sealed Razor Blade Bank or another puncture-resistant container. Never place loose blades directly in household trash.
