What This Strop Does
Stropping does not sharpen: it realigns. Every shave rolls the razor’s microscopic edge a fraction; drawn along tensioned leather before each shave, the edge stands straight again, which is what keeps a straight razor shave-ready between honings.
Parker states the Latigo leather is high quality grade, cured for the perfect straight razor draw, that the brass Chicago Screw hardware allows easy replacement, and that the strop is handmade in the USA. How To Use It
Hang the strop from a fixed point, hold the handle and pull it taut. Lay the razor flat, spine leading, and draw it away from the edge down the leather; flip over the spine at each end, never over the edge. Two dozen light passes before a shave is the classic dose.
Use the woven polypropylene side to dry and wipe the blade; the leather side is for the edge itself. A shavette with replaceable blades never needs stropping.
Care and Storage
Keep the leather dry and flat or hanging, away from heat. If a nick or groove ever develops, the brass Chicago Screws let the leather be replaced rather than the whole strop.

I purchased this to sharpen my very expensive Japanese chef’s knives as there is no sharpener that can deal with a 12 degree blade without ruining it.

Very good product. The leather on it is smooth and straight. I’d ordered one from another company and returned it because the leather had many bends in it. First time using the returned one and I ruined a blade. I’ve used this handmade one multiple times and have had great results. The secondary strap is made more of a nylon material that seems to “catch” the blade at times. I say this because of the sound it makes. It looks like I could easily replace it with more of a seat belt material if I can find some wide enough.
It is good to know that I can maintain the razor’s edge with this one.
Overall I am very satisfied with it.

Well I needed a replacement was only looking for the leather piece but no luck, either way excellent product by Parker keeps my razor sharp and worth your buck. Had bought a cheaper brand since was just looking for the leather piece yeah wasn’t worth, I’d like to know if it possible to find the pieces separate.
