Description
Product Overview
The NATU razor is a single edge safety razor with a pivoting head, machined from aluminium in Portugal and finished in anodised colour. It is built for people who want the economics of traditional blades without giving up the familiar feel of a cartridge.
The head pivots, so it follows the contours of the face, jaw, head or leg instead of asking you to hold a precise angle. That is the part that makes a safety razor difficult for most beginners, and this design removes it.
Blades load magnetically. It takes a standard double edge blade snapped in half, which is the cheapest blade format there is and is sold by every brand rather than by NATU alone.
Five anodised colours: Green, Black, Copper, Gold and Grey.

NATU notes that minor milling marks can be visible on the aluminium, usually in less noticeable places, and that anodising can vary slightly between production batches. Neither affects how the razor shaves.
Why A Pivot Head
A traditional safety razor asks you to find and hold a shallow angle. Most of the first fortnight of DE shaving is spent learning it. A pivoting head does that job mechanically, which is why this razor suits someone coming off cartridges, and why it is easier on curved areas like the jawline, the head, or legs and underarms.
What you do not give up is the blade. It still takes an ordinary half double edge blade, so the running cost stays at pennies a shave rather than the price of a cartridge. Browse double edge blades to see the range, and remember a standard DE blade snaps cleanly in half inside its paper wrapper.
Who This Is Best For
Anyone moving from a cartridge razor who wants the savings without the learning curve, and anyone shaving areas where a fixed head is awkward. It also suits a shaver who already owns a DE razor and wants something quicker for the head or the body.
If you want the full traditional experience and are happy to learn the angle, a double edge safety razor is the classic choice.
How To Use It
Snap a double edge blade in half while it is still in its paper wrapper, then let the magnets take the half blade into the head. Wet the skin properly and lather with a brush. Let the head pivot and move in short strokes with almost no pressure, the way you would with a cartridge. Rinse the head under the tap between passes.
Care and Storage
Rinse the head thoroughly after every shave so no lather is left behind the blade, shake the water off and stand the razor somewhere with air around it. Aluminium is corrosion resistant, but a razor left wet in a closed bathroom will still tarnish over years. Take the blade out if you are putting the razor away for a long period.
Shipping and Returns
Shipped from Montreal. Wish4Blades has been a family run wet shaving business since 2004 and ships across Canada and internationally.
Frequently Asked Questions
What blades does it take?
An ordinary double edge blade snapped in half. Any brand. There is no proprietary refill.
Is a pivot head less close than a fixed head?
It trades a little of the control a fixed head gives an experienced shaver for a much shorter learning curve. Most people find it closer than a cartridge and easier than a traditional DE.
Can I use it on legs and underarms?
Yes. The pivot is most useful exactly where the contours are tightest.
Will the anodised colour wear?
Anodising dyes the metal rather than coating it, so there is no plating to flake. Small batch to batch differences are normal.
