What This Razor Does

A solid stainless XL razor is built for the long game twice over: steel that cannot wear through, and a handle length that turns wrist work into arm work for taller frames, bigger hands and legs alike.

The facts are the listing’s established ones: the Rex Supply Co. Envoy XL, precision-machined from solid 316L stainless steel with an extended handle for grip and leverage, delivering a smooth, controlled shave with outstanding balance. Rex publishes American manufacture across its range, and its XL case listing we stock is cut for exactly this razor.

Who This ts Best For

Big hands, long strokes
The XL handle exists for exactly this grip.
Buy-once buyers
Solid 316L outlives its owner’s beard, and then some.
Rex collectors
The Envoy is Rex’s classic; the XL is its full-size statement.

How To Load and Use

Unscrew the three-piece head, lay a standard DE blade on the cap, and reassemble: snug, never forced. Shave with light pressure at around 30 degrees and let the steel’s weight work.

No blades ship with this listing, so add a tuck of DE blades to your order; every standard brand fits. The Rex XL case we stock is its travel home.

Care and Storage

Rinse and dry after each shave, dry the threads before reassembly, and that is all 316L asks.

Keep unused blades dry and stored in their original packaging. Place used blades in a sealed Razor Blade Bank or another puncture-resistant container. Never place loose blades directly in household trash.

    Rex Envoy XL

I already had the Ambassador and was curious about the Envoy, and went for it when R.E. had another 20% discount. I was leery since it’s supposed to be equivalent to the Ambassador on setting three, which is too aggressive for me and I use either 1.5 or 2. Anyway it’s a solid and well built razor as expected, although mine had a burned edge on the top cap which was replaced without question. I used it today with a Bolzano blade and got a very close shave but the feel is just a bit too much for me. It’s a great choice if you aren’t as sensitive as I am.

    REX Supply Envoy XL razor

Just perfect for me. Very well balance with a fantastic grip. The razor is efficient but not too agressive. Great results with all the brand of DE blades that I have tried.. Simple but excellent manufacturing. Very worthwhile.

    Rex Envoy

Once I received my Rex Envoy I loaded it with a feather blade and was pleasantly surprised what a very smooth shave I received. I’m on my fourth save with the same blade and still reviving a smooth shave with no razor burn or irritation. Very pleased with this new razor. A great find.

    Envoy XL

It’s the perfect length. To me, it is the modern day Big Boy. It is just a little shorter the the Ambassador XL. I shaved my face with it on 2.5 and my neck on 2. I use the Envoy XL for everything with no issues if that helps. This is my daily driver until Rex makes a razor with butterfly doors. Matt is the man.

Rex Supply Co. Envoy XL Stainless Steel 3 Piece DE Razor

I bought this razor at the Arizona Shave Meetup. It was under the scratch and dent sale. The small scratch on it is only noticeable under a microscope though. You wouldn’t be able to spot the scratch under the naked eye. The razor works well and is very well built. I am happy with my purchase and happy to support a local small business.

This was is my favorite razor ever, truly heirloom, grade construction and engineering. I will not be purchasing any more razors in the future, in my mind this is the best of the best nothing beats it on the market. And a side note Em with customer service is fantastic, unmatched customer service.

    Simply the Best

This razor has replaced the beloved Gillette Tech as my favorite safety razor. I would like to call it medium aggressive, but there is no irritation and the shave overall is smooth. Thick heavy handle, incredible knurling. Blade aligns.perfectly. No better craftsmanship, at any prize. . Made in USA, This puts some much hyped razors to complete shame.

Superb fit and finish. Good weight and feel in the hand. Decently maneuverable for extended handle razor. Results are blade dependent (as they should be). Highly recommended

    Envoy XL
The fit, finish, and design of the Envoy XL is excellent. The design allows for easy rinses and cleanup as well. Compared to my Rockwell T2 in brushed stainless, my Envoy in standard finish looks superior. While not adjustable, I never miss that feature due to the ideal blade exposure, and considering the cost savings over adjustables it is a great value. Bravo Rex!

    Excellent quality
Georgeous looking razor. Very premium feel and look. Unfortunately it was a bit aggressive for me. But can be and apparently is perfect for others.

30 Plus Days of Use, and Wowed By The Envoy XL
I have been using this razor since receiving it a little more than 30 days ago. It is far and away the finest razor I have ever owned. When I started out with my Envoy, I realized that I would have a learning curve with it. It is a pretty heavy razor, its weight is significant. I had to learn the muscle tricks of using this. All fine instruments require much practice to master. Just as the violinist must practice, and learn the ways of that specific instrument, so I need to practice, and learn the ways of my specific Envoy XL. I have come a long way in the learning journey since my first shave with it. I did know right away that I was getting truly good shaves with my Envoy. I was greatly encouraged by this. I remembered the old Schick commercials, “You have to train your face for 30 days.” That is how it seems to be for me. Each shave is a little better for me, as I understand the ways of the razor just a little better. It is very finely crafted. I love the weight. I love the feel of it. I love the performance I am getting from it. I am willing to be patient and train myself to the razor, and I think I am reaping rewards from it. Recently, I have begin to shave “against the grain” under my chin, along my throat. I have always been terrified of reversing the razor head in that area but I have a little more courage now with the Envoy in hand. I have gotten 2 nicks so far, but my going slowly and patiently, my throat area is more closely shaved now. This razor is machined by Americans. It is made in America. I’m not sure where the steel is sourced from — I hope it originates from the earth of our American states, as well. I am proud to support American machinists and all the people who worked so hard to bring this razor to market. I am proud to support Rex Supply and all of its employees, and Razor Emporium and all of its employees, because these folks bring excellence in shaving products to the table. Another way of putting this is: suppose I was given all the steel blanks I wanted and whatever machinery I wanted. I still could not machine a beautiful instrument like this one. I don’t have the needed experience. But I can support American professionals who can produce it. I considered getting this plated in rhodium. I had the Razor Emporium refurb service do that to one of my Gillette Tech razors. I was so tempted to get this new razor plated, too. Cost was not an issue for me. I seesawed on whether to get it plated, then finally decided to try it with just the standard finish. I do plan to order additional razors and I will definitely make use of the plating service to see if it makes a difference to my shaving routine. I started shaving at around age 14, always with razors of poor quality. Today, I am a couple years from retirement. I am so pleased that I bought the Envoy XL.
